NSPCC Charity Dinner

Filed under: Uncategorised — jamie @ 1:59 pm

On Wednesday 24th September 2008, our friends at Mint Catering were in action at the Phillips de Pury Gallery in Victoria, London. The gallery is the market leader in cutting-edge contemporary design.

The gallery in association with Outset Contemporary Art Fund were hosting Design Makes a Difference, a charity dinner sponsored by HSBC Private Bank to benefit the NSPCC’s Rebuilding Childhoods Appeal. This was to be an exclusive preview for the auction the following day from where 17 lots were to be donated directly to the NSPCC. In fact, the sale and related activities at Phillips de Pury & Co raised over £200,000.

The gallery looked stunning and with many of the auction items on display, it was important for the table design to reflect this. Guests ate at long tables, elegantly clothed in white and sat on perspex ghost chairs. In addition, each table had centre pieces designed by well-known designers including Zaha Hadid.

In designing the menus the Mint chefs were asked to present ideas that encouraged guests to interact whilst at the same time using seasonal produce presented in a modern way. This was achieved by a shared starter “The Fish Smoke House” of smoked wild halibut, London cured smoked salmon, smoked yellow fin tuna and smoked eel fillets. This was served with traditional accompaniments such as muslin bound lemon and sauce vert. Main course was roast breast of guinea fowl with lemon myrtle, stacked potato and a warm bean salad. Dessert canapés and coffee were served from a central buffet so that guests could mingle with each other.

Commenting on the evening, Alison Reed, Events Manager for NSPCC said “It has been a pleasure dealing with Mint Catering, the service and the standard of food tonight has been amazing.”

Impulse are proud to partner with Mint Catering who provide the delectable cuisine at all three of our christmas party venues.
